Technowrapp's focus on people and the environment is now Bcorp certified

Technowrapp becomes the first Italian manufacturing company in the automation sector to receive BCorp certification.

First in the province of Belluno.

Technowrapp becomes the first Italian manufacturing company in the automation sector to receive BCorp certification, awarded to companies that are committed to producing social and environmental benefits that go beyond economic profit. Companies that choose to become B-Corp certified do so by embarking on a path that over time will lead them to make an ever deeper commitment to their environment and to all their stakeholders: employees, customers and suppliers.

There are about 6,000 BCorp companies worldwide in 89 countries in 159 different sectors. In Italy, about 300 companies are currently B-Corp certified. This is an important milestone for Technowrapp, which is among the 3% of virtuous companies that meet the requirements, out of more than 196,000 candidate companies measured by the international body BLab, which awards the prestigious certification.

Technowrapp's objective is to combine economic sustainability with social responsibility, which creates tangible and intangible value for everything around the company.  Value for people, for the territory, for the environment and for the company.

"What distinguishes a socially responsible company is the predisposition, the ability and the awareness of being a reference in this field,' explains Davide Ceccarelli, CEO of Technowrapp. 'We are committed to training our listening skills on a daily basis and to putting our values into practice by reconciling them with the social and environmental as well as the economic aspect. Being BCorp means being a company that is part of a global movement committed to an inclusive, equitable and regenerative paradigm. We founded the company by focusing on these issues from the very beginning, and today, an international body certifies our distinctive features."

The path to B-Corp certification began with an initial assessment using two tools. The first is the B-impact Assessment, in this assessment the areas involved are governance, community, customers, employees and the environment.

The second tool, the Sustainable Development Goals Action Manager, was prepared in cooperation with the United Nations, referring to the goals of the 2030 Agenda. In this way, the company's impact is assessed in relation to the 17 goals identified in the Agenda concerning the environment and climate change, people and equal opportunities, and education and training.

For each activity, B-Corp assigns a score, the minimum sum to obtain certification is 80. Once the score is reached, the path can continue towards an ever higher score, synonymous with the company's constant commitment to society and the environment.

The desire to be certified on Corporate Social Responsibility issues starts in 2018 with membership of a group of Sustainable Businesses companies, a discussion table with other companies in the area to think of a replicable model of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The management of social responsibility issues within Technowrapp immediately took concrete form with the creation of a team, called Responshabits and composed of CEO Davide Ceccarelli and the HR, Marketing&Communication, Legal&Compliance, and Operation departments, which has the task of identifying the development and improvement strategy by involving its stakeholders in the process.

Decisive in achieving certification was our way of life at Technowrapp, we call it Listenability. A cultural movement, created by us, to spread within Technowrapp and outside Technowrapp the awareness that listening is a fundamental part for growth, for relationships, for change, for contamination, for the creation of common goals. Listenability combines two words and we can read it both ways. It is listening to become proficient, in work and in life, but it is also training to become more and more proficient in listening. Listening is improving relationships, improving the internal climate, listening is a step towards the future.

"At Technowrapp, we are aware that first of all we need to learn to listen internally in order to then be able to listen to our customers,' Davide Ceccarelli points out.

Many processes and activities have been created to train listening. Listening to ourselves, listening among people, listening that is then reflected towards stakeholders, towards our territory and the environment.

We list some of them:

One of the activities is Technowrapp People, a monthly meeting, for all our employees, with the coach, who helps us to be better together, to learn how to confront each other, to work on common goals, to respect others, to know ourselves, our colleagues and our customers better.

Another ongoing activity is IDEAS WAY, we believe that every idea should not be wasted. Each employee can express himself freely, share his idea with his manager, then around a table formed by a team of employees from different departments who have the task of listening to him, and finally in front of the CEO.

Technowrapp is now a BCorp and is proud to be counted among the companies leading a global movement committed to an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic paradigm that complements the company's vision and the way we do business every day.
